PHILADELPHIA, PA November, 2018 – EBS (Educational Based Services) is proud to announce that EBS Leadership Team member, Janet Wagner, M.S., CCC-SLP, has been nominated and voted in as the new President Elect of the Oregon Speech-Language-Hearing Association (OSHA).
The Oregon Speech-Language-Hearing Association is recognized as the official professional organization for Oregon Speech-Language Pathologists, Audiologists, and Speech-Language Pathology Assistants by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). The association’s mission is to promote best practice methods and ethical principles, as well as empower members to provide the highest level of communication potential to persons of all ages.
“I am happy to congratulate Janet on her election to this important and impactful position. She is a natural leader here at EBS, and within our field,” says EBS President, Mark Stubits. “Janet will no doubt bring a tremendous amount of energy and ideas to her role as OSHA President. She is truly dedicated to making a difference, whether she is working with children, leading professional development, or mentoring Speech-Language Pathologists who are new to our field,” adds Stubits.
Ms. Wagner has more than 25 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist providing pediatric therapy in the public school setting, private practice, and home health. She has specialized expertise in literacy, phonemic awareness, mentorship, and supervision, and has presented on these topics and more at local, state and national conferences as well as at universities across the Pacific Northwest. Ms. Wagner serves as the ASHA State Education Advocacy Leader (SEAL) for Oregon. She has previously served in the role of VP of Finance on the Executive Board for OSHA.
Currently, Ms. Wagner serves as an EBS Regional Lead in the Pacific Northwest, providing direct on-site mentorship, training, professional development and support to Clinical Fellows and Speech-Language Pathologists. Ms. Wagner is dedicated to helping EBS deliver on its mission to support clinicians by improving their knowledge, strengthening their skills, and giving them opportunities for professional and personal growth. Janet is a proven leader, and we congratulate her on her new position as OSHA President Elect.
