PHILADELPHIA, PA March, 2018 – EBS (Educational Based Services) is proud to announce that EBS Leadership Team Member, Marva Mount, M.A., CCC-SLP, has been inducted into the Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association (TSHA) Hall of Fame.
Given annually, The TSHA Hall of Fame Award is presented to Speech-Language Pathologists (individuals and/or groups) who have demonstrated exemplary commitment and contribution in serving those with communication disorders.
“This accomplishment is hard earned, and I am proud to congratulate Marva for this well-deserved honor,” says EBS President, Mark Stubits. “Marva is an incredible gift to our field and she exemplifies everything EBS stands for. She is truly committed to helping change lives, whether she is working with children, or empowering clinicians to become the best Speech-Language Pathologists possible,” adds Stubits.
Ms. Mount has more than 30 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist working with students who have a variety of communication and educational needs within the school setting. She has also served as a building administrator and special education director in school districts of varying sizes across the U.S. These varied roles have provided her with a unique insight into what students need to ensure their success.
Ms. Mount has presented at both the state and national levels on topics related to the educational environment, including Autism, Common Core, Service Delivery Models, and how communication disorders affect a student’s academic performance. She is also a published author, and most recently published a chapter in Professional Issues in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, Fourth Edition. Ms. Mount also contributes regularly to ASHA publications and special interest group discussions.
Currently, Ms. Mount serves as an EBS Regional Lead in the Texas area, providing direct on-site mentorship, training, professional development and support to Clinical Fellows. In this role, Ms. Mount works tirelessly to help EBS deliver its promise to support clinicians to improve their knowledge as professionals, strengthen their skills, and broaden the range of possibilities for their clinical advancement. With a steadfast commitment to serving others, and a heart full of passion and joy, Marva has and continues to make a difference.
