Philadelphia, PA, February 22, 2016 – EBS Healthcare, a global leader in providing pediatric therapy services and support to the birth to 21 population and beyond, is pleased to announce that it was recently a sponsor at Philly’s Feast for FAST, a dining event that raised more than $2,000 for The Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics (FAST). The event was held at the Audubon Chickie & Pete’s location in celebration of International Angelman Syndrome Day – an annual event on February 15th that raises awareness and money for Angelman Syndrome research and support.
“We are thankful to the local businesses that came out to support Philadelphia’s event,” says Paula Evans, Chairperson of FAST. “The money raised at this event, and other Feasts for FAST around the world will help our organization fund smarter and faster science that will ultimately lead to a cure for Angelman Syndrome,” adds Evans.
“At EBS, we have a passion for helping others,” comments Mark Stubits, CEO of EBS Healthcare. “Our therapists work with individuals with Angelman Syndrome at our clinics around the country. In fact, we’re leading the field in utilizing augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to empower people with Angelman Syndrome to find their voices,” adds Stubits.
Angelman Syndrome is a rare genetic neurological disorder characterized by global severe developmental delays, movement and balance disorder, seizures, sleep disturbances, severe speech impairment, and a happy, excitable demeanor.
